A lithopedion, or stone baby, is a rare phenomenon which occurs most commonly when a fetus that dies during an abdominal pregnancy, is too large to be reabsorbed by the body, and calcifies on the outside, shielding the mother’s body from the dead tissue of the baby and preventing infection.
This highly unusual specimen remained in the abdomen of a woman for 55 years. During this time the mother had five additional uncomplicated pregnancies.

I had to create a new tag to express how I feel about this.
Is it wrong that I’ve always wanted some calcified babies? At least non-human specimens, realistically.
I would use them like rocks in a zen garden or a terrarium.
Or slingshot ammunition.
Shooting an ossified fetus through a plate glass window with a threatening note attached is just one of those things I want to do before I die.
Buy one, get one free if the second runs away! NEVER BEEN OPENED!

Because I know you’re curious, here’s a tortoise penis in action. For science.
And by “in action”, I mean you’re about to watch a tortoise’s bizarre flower-shaped dick make its way out of its body, and it’s going to bust a nut right on someone’s patio. Just thought you should be aware of that before you see the video.
